Sweaters And Flannel: 15 Adorable Celebrity Portraits From Sundance

Life After Beth Cast Sundance Film Festival portrait January 2014

The 2014 Sundance Film Festival is in full swing in Park City, Utah, as we speak. If you did one of those word association tests on me and said “Sundance,” my immediate response would be “SWEATERS!” Specifically celebrities in sweaters. Nobody wears a cozy sweater or a flannel shirt or a pair of funky snow boots like an indie actor at Sundance. Sure, the movies are important and exciting too, and there are a lot of buzzy ones this year, but I just really like to ogle famous people’s winter clothing. Give me a photo of a beautiful person snuggled up in wool and I’m happy.

Luckily the stars have lots of opportunities to show off their fuzzy fashion choices and flex their funny face muscles by posing for adorable portraits for various magazines and photographers. We’ve got fifteen of the most adorable photos from the Getty Images Portrait Studio right here for you to peruse and smile at. The first one’s above, featuring the cast of Life After Beth (Aubrey Plaza, Matthew Gray Gubler, Dane DeHaan, Molly Shannon, Paul Reiser and Cheryl Hines). Nothing brightens a cold winter film festival like celebrities acting silly.

1. Shailene Woodley

Movie: White Bird in a Blizzard

I’m not totally sure what Shailene’s going for in this photo, but knowing her quirky personality she could be reaching out to touch an invisible fairy.

2. Aubrey Plaza and Matthew Gray Gubler

Movie: Life After Beth

That’s what I’m talking about! Whenever knitted scarves are involved in silly shenanigans, I am all for it.

3. Elle Fanning

Movie: Young Ones

Elle Fanning: The only person who can make sandals over socks look totally chic. It doesn’t hurt that the socks are covered in hot dogs and hamburgers.

4. Jack McBrayer

Movie: Cooties

Aww, Jack McBrayer’s cold, you guys. Somebody give him your coat!

5. Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick knows she’s the coolest chick around, and she’s not afraid to show it.

6. Gabourey Sidibe

Hey Gabourey, when you’re done hiding behind that fabulous scarf, can you explain this season of American Horror Story to me? Cool, thanks.

7. Miles Teller

Movie: Whiplash

Miles will see your flannel shirt and raise you a badass puffer jacket and a sassy pose.

8. Selena Gomez

Movie: Rudderless

Selena took a break from receiving penis pictures from Justin Bieber to pose mysteriously in a sophisticated turtleneck.

9. Elisabeth Moss and Jason Schwartzman

Movie: Listen Up Philip

Finally someone thought of the back-to-back, arms crossed pose! You just get me, Elisabeth and Jason.

10. Elizabeth Banks

Movie: Little Accidents

Elizabeth Banks is laughing at something, but I don’t know what. It was probably a joke she told herself. She’s that funny.

11. Diane Kruger and Brit Marling

Movie: The Better Angels

These two are cute together. I’d be cool with Diane swapping Joshua Jackson for Brit and raising a baby with her. You know, whatever she wants to do.

12. Bill Hader

Movie: The Skeleton Twins

Bill looks like he is this close to putting his hands over his mouth and holding back laughter Stefon-style. I miss you, Stefon.

13. Kate Hudson and Zach Braff

Movie: Wish I Was Here

When is this going to be a Gap ad? I don’t even care if their clothes are from Gap. It’s just too perfect to pass up.

14. Dan Stevens

Movie: The Guest

Oh look, it’s the traitor formerly known as Matthew Crawley. Now that you live in Brooklyn you come to all these hipster events, do you? You’re lucky you’re cute.
