And so the quest for King’s Landing continues, my friends. Doesn’t it seem like forever since the season finale (and the incredibly depressing penultimate episode) of season three was so very long ago? I know I’ve spent roughly the last nine months mourning the fact that (SPOILER ALERT) Robb Stark and his glorious jawline and chiseled chest will no longer fill my screen on Sunday nights. I take comfort in knowing most of you are probably doing the same thing.
At least the wonderful people at HBO have finally taken pity on us and released a tantalizing, action-packed, cliff-hanger of a trailer! Except they haven’t. At all. They’ve released a 15 second “teaser” trailer to answer none of our questions, give us no information, and have us wondering how Vine videos pack so much story into six seconds, but the creative geniuses at HBO can’t even aptly fulfill 15. Ugh.
That being said, I’m still sooooo excited! Mostly because I’ve read the books, so I know this upcoming season is going to be awesome. And by “read the books”, I of course mean skimmed the Wikipedia pages for each of the novels three or four times, because I only have time for YA fiction these days.
Oh, and in case micro-bursts of GoT are your thing, HBO actually has released Vine videos that are even shorter and less telling than this teaser. A Lannister may always pay his debts, but the digital marketing team at HBO sure doesn’t!
Game of Thrones will premiere on Sunday, April 17th.
