If you haven’t watched the first season of House of Cards at this point, then I just don’t know how to help you…except to recommend that you immediately watch the trailer for season two to convince you it’s worthwhile. There’s a brand new one out in advance of the season being released to Netflix in its entirety on February 14th, so you have time to catch up, but just barely. Kevin Spacey and Kate Mara and Robin Wright are all counting on you.
But I think the real thing to focus on is why you’ve waited until now to make this a priority. I mean I don’t want to delve too deeply into your psyche, but isn’t it pretty obvious that you just don’t trust people? After all, I’ve been telling you for at least a month now that it’s a must-see (and also that I should be vice president of the United States), and you still haven’t taken the bait on either count. What does that say about you as a person? Why can’t we just sit calmly and discuss this like adults? With frequent asides to the camera to divulge our true feelings on the topic, of course.
If you didn’t understand some of the references in that last paragraph and you’re feeling left out, well GOOD. That’s how it’s supposed to be, so stew in that feeling until the knowledge that you could be included, if only you’d watched the first season of House Of Cards, overwhelms you and you find your butt on the couch and your fingers clicking their way to Netflix.
Are you not convincéd? And if not, then why not? Is it because you don’t like enjoyable things or feeling smart or thrilling political dramas? If it is, you should just admit it, so I can start feeling sorry for you already.
