There are many things in this world that I’m able to handle. Small to medium-sized paper cuts? No biggie. Making it through a full day in uncomfortable shoes? Won’t even think twice about it. This Pet Collective remake of The Lion King, starring tiny kittens and pure joy? Abort, abort; cannot handle. And to add insult to injury, they had the nerve to have it narrated by a little kid with the number one cutest voice in all of the land? Wow, it’s like I wasn’t meant to make it through this video with all of my emotions intact. I actually dreamt once that I would one day be able to make it through any video like this one without being reduced to a ball of happy tears and “aww” noises. But, alas, today is not that day.
Let me just let you in on what you’re about to walk into. First of all, did the scene in The Lion King when Simba tries to nudge awake Mufasa after he dies make you weep as a child? Yes, of course it did. How else would you explain the fact that you carved “R.I.P. Mufasa, Scar you’re a douchebag” into the ceiling of your childhood bedroom? Well, get ready to have that scene be infinitely more adorable than you could have ever imagined. The hyena boneyard scene, which is directly responsible for your very first bout of angina? Brace yourself for that to now make you melt due to an advanced case of fluffy, stumbling, roaring kitty overload. That’s a serious medical condition, by the way, which I personally learned about in the School of Precious Things That Make You Want To Cry. And I’ve just heard back from that very real school and have been informed that this video is definitely being added to the curriculum there.
So, now that you’re all warmed up for what is sure to be in the top 5 list of ways to spend 2 minutes, I must let you fly from the nest on your own. Watch the video below and get ready to replace every grumpy emotion you’ve ever felt with a beautiful walk on sunshine.
