How are your tear ducts feeling today? Air tight? They better be, if you have any hope of getting through this video of Sara Bareilles singing ‘Brave’ with a cancer survivor without some serious eye-water running down your face.
Just reading the description should give you a pretty good idea for the warming that your cold cold heart is in for, but it’s even tougher to get through than all that, because the kid that Sara pulled up onstage with her at the House Of Blues Orlando is a little boy named Josh and it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. According to the description on the YouTube video:
“Joshua was diagnosed with Leukemia in February 2013, and Sara’s song, Brave, has been his personal anthem as he has battled through countless rounds of chemo. He is currently in remission, and touching lives all over the internet with his courage and love of life.”
So basically give up, you guys. I watched it one time and all the snow out on the windowsill melted. It’s that heart-warming, not to mention inspiring, impressive, and all around just great. It’s not a celebrity requirement to improve the lives of the people around you and increase visibility for important causes, which is why it’s all the more impressive when famous people take it upon themselves to do so.
Everything about Josh’s enthusiasm just made my day, you guys. I’m gonna go home and blast Sara Bareilles music and clean my apartment and cook dinner and attack life reinvigorated. WE CAN DO ANYTHING. I’m aware that I’m acting like a crazy person right now, but I’m seriously not exaggerating — this is just how the video made me feel.
BE BRAVE, YOU GUYS.
