5. Nathan Scott on One Tree Hill
You can’t discuss one Scott brother without including the other. When One Tree Hill began, we all thought Nathan was the typical villain. As the show progressed, Nathan became everyone’s Prince Charming. He kept making mistakes, but he continued to learn from them to become a better dad and husband. James Lafferty, who played Nathan, has been dating Bono’s daughter, Eve Hewson, since 2010.
6. Troy Bolton in High School Musical
Obviously we all fell in love with Zac Efron during High School Musical. Bonus points to all of you who noticed him previously in the WB’s Summerland with Jesse McCartney. HSM became a bonafide phenomenon, and Zac went on to participate in several movies such as 17 Again, The Lucky One, and Liberal Arts. He also did the most casual rehab stint in recent history, handling it with a great deal of maturity. Look for his return next year in the movies Neighbors and That Awkward Moment.
7. Jim Halpert on The Office
Sure John Krasinski is a little older than the rest of our list, but there’s not a girl who didn’t want Jim Halpert to be her boyfriend. His character pined for Pam for ages, and they went on to have an incredibly sweet romance throughout The Office series. In real life, John is now married to everyone’s favorite first assistant, Emily Blunt, and has had a few notable film roles in movies like Away We Go and Something Borrowed.
8. Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl
While all the Gossip Girl boys were more than drool worthy, Dan was probably the best boyfriend of the bunch. Nate and Chuck had too many daddy issues that got in the way of treating their girlfriends well. Dan’s insecurities only made him work harder for true love. Dair (Dan + Blair) was my dream couple, contrary to popular opinion. Penn Badgley’s notable previous relationships include Blake Lively during the show’s run, and later on, Zoe Kravitz. He also recently played legend Jeff Buckley in the movie Greetings from Tim Buckley.
9. Caleb Rivers on Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars is another show where there’s more eye candy than we can handle, but best boyfriend award at this point goes to Caleb, played by Tyler Blackburn. So far he’s the only boyfriend who hasn’t betrayed his girlfriend yet (Toby and Ezra have both worked with villainous “A”). Everything Caleb has done the entire series has been to help Hanna, and we love that kind of devotion. Currently, Tyler is rumored to be dating Hanna’s portrayer herself, Ashley Benson. He’s also so popular he got his own PLL spinoff, Ravenswood – a spookier counterpart to the original.
10. Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries
While bad boy Damon is always luring us in, Stefan is the better Salvatore boyfriend. He’s extremely reliable, always trying to do the right thing and be the hero. Some may argue that Damon is always trying to protect Elena, but he often goes against her wishes to keep her safe. Stefan honors Elena’s wishes all the time, even when her wish is to date his brother. Sometimes, kindness backfires, I guess. Paul Wesley and wife Torrey Devitto got divorced this summer, but he’s quickly moved onto Phoebe Tonkin from The Originals.
