Thor: The Dark World has already been released and we’ve already established that we’d choose Loki over Thor any day of the week, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep watching videos of Tom Hiddleston being adorable. Otherwise how would we get our daily dose of sunshine and rainbows and British accents? So rejoice over the fact that this video of Tom on a German talk show singing karaoke in a moving car has made its way onto the Internet.
I love how Tom’s publicity tour for the new Thor movie quickly turned into the “let’s find all of Tom Hiddleston’s secret talents and put him on the spot” tour. What I love even more is how enthusiastically he’s gone along with it. He’s done impressions of everyone from Owen Wilson to Kermit the frog, he’s danced like no one was watching (even though everyone was, over and over), and he’s participated in games and silly questions without hesitation. He’ll do anything and everything with the utmost passion and excitement. He always has a smile on his face, and he’s always polite and lovely to the people interviewing him.
Tom’s singing voice doesn’t knock my socks off in this video (even he admits “it’s a bit rusty”), but that doesn’t even matter because, first of all, it’s refreshing to see that even perfect Tom Hiddleston is pitchy on the high notes in “Stand By Me.” But it’s also no big deal because he’s still so joyous and un-self-conscious. He just wants to sing his heart out for his and our enjoyment; he’s not looking to win a Grammy. Just look at that smile! I want to tattoo it on the inside of my eyelids so I can get a glimpse of it every time I blink. That’s not creepy, right?
