The New Poster Of Angelina Jolie As Maleficent Will Give You Goosebumps

Angelina Jolie as Maleficent Twitter picture November 2013I’m not usually one to get psyched about a movie way in advance, but seeing this poster of Angelina Jolie as the title character in Maleficent is getting me super geared up.

Part of that is the excellent cast, which we’ll talk about in a second, but some of it comes from just how blatantly awesome this photo is. Everything about it is great, across the board. Those contacts are killer, the deep redness of her lipstick against the paleness of her skin is spot-on, I’m loving the way her collar obscures her face, the contrast of light and dark is amazing, and I can’t stop obsessing over the texture of her horned headdress thing and the way it shows up in the photo. Really just spot-on.

It was enough to get me over to IMDb to do a little more research on this film, which is the mark of a good poster. I knew that it was a different take that Disney was doing on the story of Sleeping Beauty, but I didn’t realize what a powerhouse cast it was sporting! Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora? The number one slot-holder on our 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 list Brenton Thwaites as Prince Phillip? Imelda Staunton? Juno Temple? Damn, girls. Breaking out the big guns. I approve.

Even Angelina’s kids Zahara, Pax, and Vivienne are listed as having small roles, and you know those three have discerning palettes. I mean they’re Jolie-Pitts for chrissakes. They don’t get out of bed for anything less than a blockbuster. Or $3,000 a week, in Vivienne’s case.

Maleficent will be hitting theaters Spring 2014 — or ‘soon’, according to the posters — and I, for one, will be on the edge of my seat until precisely that moment.

Those eyes of hers are making my soul feel self-conscious.

That is so photoshopped that it could be ANYONE.

I love a good Photoshop scandal, but I actually disagree in this case.
