13 Celebrities Who You Probably Had No Idea Were Vegans

Ariana Grande shrugging GIF(via)

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the only thing — and I do mean the only thing – on my mind right now is the amount of food I’m going to consume on that blessed day. But even as I’m having daytime fantasies about turkey and mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, Ariana Grande is announcing via Twitter that she’s going completely vegan. But…girl…it’s right before Thanksgiving!

I won’t ever deny that being a vegan is very impressive, as far as self-control goes, and it probably makes people feel really good on an individual basis (otherwise I assume they wouldn’t do it), but I just do not have anywhere close to the amount of self-control to make that happen. Having been raised with no red meat, I don’t even think I could go back to that at this point, let alone go completely vegetarian, and asolutely not vegan. It’s just not my style.

But once you start roaming around the internet, I think you’d be surprised to find how many celebrities have chosen this lifestyle for themselves. Whether for health reasons or to fight animal cruelty or just to make me feel guilty about my cheese-binges, a lot of famous humans are doing the vegan thing. And a few who might even surprise you.

What is Ariana Grande thinking? She has hypoglycemia, which means her body doesnt properly regulate sugar. She should be staying away from carbohydrates and fats and sticking to protein from lean sources. Now she’s switching to a diet that is primarily carbs….smh.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

I didn’t realize she was hypoglycemic — I am too!

How does vegan diet translate to a diet of carbs?? She could easily be swapping meats for all-vegetarian dishes, like salads, healthy grains, nuts, fruits, etc. No meat doesn’t mean pasta dishes.

Uhm… Sorry, but everything you mentioned does have carb, but especially grains and fruits have A LOT so…carbs = pasta ONLY is about as far from true as could possibly be.

Ah yes, thank you for this ground-breaking research on ‘spinich’ and cancer-meats.

Brad Pitt is not vegan. He gave up meat for a brief time to train for Troy but then went back to a non vegan diet. I love the guy as an actor and a humanitarian, but he is not vegan.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

That’s interesting…where are you getting that information? Everywhere I looked suggests that he’s still a vegan.
