You guys all owe me an apology, because it turns out I was right about Chris Brown all along. You guys kept acting like I was so unreasonable for refusing to forgive Chris for accidentally beating up that nice lady all the way back in 2009 even though he’s totally over it himself, but it turns out I’m not. It turns out that I actually have the same opinion of him that his mom does. So you can send the apology flowers or the ‘you were right’ Edible Arrangement to my work whenever you’re ready.
Actually, I may have exaggerated a little. Chris’ mom, Joyce Hawkins, doesn’t have a problem with him, specifically, she just has a problem with his entourage, a group that he calls OHP, for Original Hood Boss(es). She thinks they’re a bad influence on him, supplying him with drugs and distracting him from his career, and she’s over it. She’s refusing to enable him anymore, something she’s not even the first woman in his life to do, according to Bossip:
“The real reason Rihanna left wasn’t because of any female. It was because Chris’ crew, who he refers to as OHB are not good people. He wouldn’t get help for a drug problem, so she gave him an ultimatum and left.”
But while Rihanna’s ultimatum wasn’t enough to get him to stop hanging out with OHB, Joyce is hoping that her own absence will be. After a recent fight, Chris unfollowed his mom on Twitter, and she made it clear to her own followers that she wants nothing to do with his inner circle, asking that nobody retweet ‘OHB’ anywhere that she can see it.
“She’s fed up with Chris’ crew and when Chris came home for the first time last month, they completely disrespected her and he was high as a kite. She doesn’t know what else she can do for him, her nor Rihanna. They’ve tried to get him help and his drug dealing/gang banging friends keep supplying him with more drugs. He’s alienated his family and people who truly care about him for yes men and women who keep him high enough to use him.”
And at this point, his alleged choices are even starting to affect his career, in addition to his personal relationships.
“His album has already been pushed back because when he gets to the studio, he’s too high to hit notes. Everyone is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Unfortunately it’s only getting worse.”
Yeesh. Hate to say I told you so…but also, I love to say I told you so.
