New York Fashion Week doesn’t exist just to show off fab clothes on cool runways; it’s also great for showcasing a ton of hairstyles that you’ll want to try on your own. Case in point: the fun, voluminous, and 1970′s-inspired curls from Jenny Packham’s 2014 Spring runway. Louise Roe went backstage at the show, talked to Jenny about her vision a bit, and got the skinny on the styling process from the TRESemme stylist behind the ‘do. You might remember her for the super cute braided up-do at the Rebecca Minkoff show and the cool matte hair at the Vivienne Tam show! So go ahead and try your hardest not to fall in love with this style and tell me how long you made it before you started thinking up ways to recreate the look at home. I’m suspecting that it won’t be very long. Maybe even shorter than the time that Charlie Hunnam spent as Christian Grey.
If you’re like me and wanted this hair the second you saw that model in the blue dress completely owning it, then you should grab hold of the nearest can of TRESemme Thermal Creations Mousse, fire up a few curling irons, and do a little ’70s dance. Because it’s on.
I hope you’re now either reading this with brand new bouncy curls, or, at the very least, a newfound determination to get them. And, for the full effect, you can watch Austin Powers in Goldmember and pick up some ’70s slang to use whenever you do your hair like this. It’ll be perfect, I promise.
