UPDATE: a rep for the singer says that Austin was “admitted to the hospital with 104 temperature and is being treated for a blood clot and extreme inflammation in his throat, as well as severe dehydration.”
Eesh. Scary stuff.
ALERT. ALERT ALERT ALERT. Austin Mahone was rushed to the hospital this morning. This on its own would be worrying, but it gets even worse. He got all the way there and forgot to take a Justin Bieber-style shirtless selfie. Something must be terribly wrong!
Everyone knows that the moment a young popstar gets to the hospital, the first thing he has to do is to remove his shirt as quickly as possible. Otherwise, how are the doctors expected to begin treatment? With his shirt on, how is anybody supposed to accurately admire his delicately muscled ladybody? Or gaze upon his many ill-advised tattoos? Or how is said pop star supposed to look as sultry as possibly while posing for his fans??
These are all chief medical concerns that must be attended to in order for the healing process to start, but Austin seems to have attended to none of them. Instead, he just got on an IV and Instagrammed a photo with the caption ‘I’ve never felt so bad’. With his shirt on, if you can imagine anything so foolhardy, and distinctly not lounging on a hospital bed. I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes.
Austin hasn’t provided any details yet, aside from posting the photo to his Instagram, but a source says he was feeling sick for a few days beforehand:
“Mahone was rushed to the hospital at 9 a.m. Thursday morning. It’s unclear what the singer’s condition is at this time.”
In addition to those informative details, the same source also speculates that Austin’s headlining tour, which is currently scheduled to begin today, ‘may have to be rescheduled for early 2014.’ Oh no! A canceled tour? Shades of JoBros! Here’s what Austin had to say.
“I can’t believe this is happening its my first tour I’m so upset. I feel like I’m letting you all down. Its Doctor’s orders I have a bad flu 103 fever and I can’t move. If I could go I would,” explained the performer.”
Hope Austin feels better soon — just bear in mind that a shirtless selfie or two certainly couldn’t hurt.
