Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey joined Jimmy Fallon on the show to play a wonderful game called Box of Lies. As an aspiring pathological liar myself, I got incredibly excited to see two of my most favorite people lie to each other. Because, really, there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing two friends stare into each other’s eyes and tell each other untruths without even cracking a smile. Do my friends tend to disagree with this theory? Sure. But that’s why I don’t always tell then I’m lying to their face. In fact, it’s sometimes more fun to see them figure it out later on and then shoot me a death stare from across a crowded room. Oh friends! They sure are fun when they’re not demanding that you be honest with them at all times.
Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey know what I’m talking about. Mostly because they are friends with each other. (Not because I’ve ever had the opportunity to lie to their face.) Or so I assume considering that they hosted Weekend Update together on Saturday Night Live for several years. As someone who actually watched it live back in their glory days, I have a special feeling toward their friendship. As in, I want to be a part of it. But since that invite has yet to arrive, I have to just settle for watching them play games with each other for now. Super fun games that seem so up my alley that I’ll be playing them all the live long day at work. First up on my list, grilling a hot dog, putting it in a plastic bag, throwing it at Alexis when she’s not looking and then lying when she asks me if I know who threw it.
