She still seems to be doing well, at least from my outside perspective knowing exactly nothing about her, which is great. I don’t want to undermine the fact that her recovery seems to be going well. But ohmygod you guys, the sketch was so rough. I’m like…mad at Lindsay for making me like Jimmy a tiny bit less. It’s an impressive feat.
The basic idea of the sketch was a a show called ‘Ew’ hosted by two preteen? teen? girls, Sara with no H and Lilo’s character. Basically they just go through things they do and don’t like and say ‘ew’ either way about it. There’s…not a whole lot to it. It felt like a real return to Jimmy’s SNL days, except that he surprisingly does a much better job of holding it together and not cracking up mid-scene. He was actually committing extra hard, throwing himself into the sketch a thousand percent. You’ve come a long way, Jimmy!
And you…Lindsay, you have not. You’re slowly working your way back into legitimacy, and you get closer and closer the further you get from your last rehab stay without backsliding, but I don’t know that you were quite ready for this sketch. Everybody always says that comedy is harder than drama, and I agree with that. Which is why if you haven’t mastered something like Liz And Dick yet (and you definitely haven’t, because I saw that tragedy), you’re most certainly not ready for Late Night. Just saying.
