Looking for an excuse to spend the morning thinking about your childhood and how easy it was back then? Well, look no further than this incredibly adorable video of Jimmy Fallon performing “Can You Tell Me How To Get To Sesame Street?” with the cast of Sesame Street and The Roots. It has everything you want in a Thursday morning video: classroom instruments, nostalgia, Cookie Monster taking selfies and the opportunity to finally figure out how to get to that damn street.
You’d think in this day and age of GPS and smartphones and the Google Maps app, it wouldn’t be so frickin’ hard to find. But here we are, in 2013, still struggling to find this street. A street, mind you, that should be pretty easy to find based on the sole fact that it’s inhibited completely by puppets.
“Hello sir, I appear to be a bit lost. I’m looking for Sesame Street, might you know where I should turn?”
“Hmm, never heard of it. Is it around these parts?”
“I’m not exactly sure, but I do know that it’s full of friendly puppets who are really proactive in the community. Also A-List celebrities are always stopping by to do something silly.”
“Ohhhhh, Ses-a-me Street, the place with all the puppets and the A-List celebrities! Yes, you are close. Take a left at the light, a right at Joseph Gordon-Levitt and you can’t miss it.”
Then again, maybe Sesame Street is like Hogwarts. Only those who belong there can see it. For the rest of us, it’s just a creepy, abandoned road that’s guarded by an extremely tall yellow bird.
