There’s very little that’s more fascinating to watch unfold than a Hollywood romance, but watching one literally fold is definitely up there as well. Most celebrity relationships end, and seeing how the participants in said relationships handle themselves post-break-up can be really telling.
No one ever said it was fair, but since celebrities are famous, their breakups tend to be really public, aka we get to go along on them and be really judgmental about how classily they behave, and write posts on their blog about it. Like I’m about to do right now.
1. Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter
In first place for classiness we have co-stars Michael and Jennifer, who met on Dexter, married, and continued to successfully work together even during and after the collapse of their relationship. They speak really sweetly about each other even to this day, and they’re setting the bar really high for the rest of the couples on this list.
2. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett
These two would be at the top of the list if I wasn’t still so angry at them for breaking up and destroying my idea of love, but the fact that they were able to interact on behalf of their kids like…a month after separating was so impressive to me that I had to give them a good score.
3. Demi Moore and Bruce Willis
They’re lower on the list because they’ve had a longer opportunity to get back to normal, but Demi and Bruce are the poster couple for amicable divorces. When Demi and Ashton Kutcher were still together, the three of them would frequently be photographed together, and even vacationed together with the kids.
4. Courteney Cox and David Arquette

These two spoke about each other a little bit to the media — like when Courteney said she could tell David still wanted to hook up, but that she wasn’t into that — but they’ve maintained a surprisingly close business relationship and friendship.
5. P!nk and Cary Hart
These two did end up getting back together, so they regained some of their classiness scores, but for a while there stuff was pretty out in the open. I mean, have you heard the song ‘So What’? Cary gets extra points for supporting P!nk by appearing in that video even when the two of them weren’t together.
6. Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards

I know, you guys. I’m as surprised as you are, because these two used to be on far from good terms. But things have clearly changed, since when Charlie and Brooke Mueller broke up and were both in rehab, Denise ended up with custody of their twin boys.
7. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt
The rest of the community has made it contentious, and Brad has made offhand comments that he was depressed while with Jen, but in general, this divorce was surprisingly drama-free.
8. Heidi Klum and Seal
These two were suuuuuper close during their marriage, so I was surprised how swiftly their divorce turned into a shouting match, with Seal and Heidi fighting publicly about her affair with the couple’s bodyguard.
9. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise
This divorce has stayed surprisingly under wraps, but it’s given me the heebie-jeebies from the start with all the Scientology involvement. Remember when they said Tom was having Katie followed? So creepy.
10. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
It’s definitely a bad sign when your divorce drags on for longer than your marriage because you’re trying to get your ex-wife to admit that she committed fraud by even marrying you.
11. Sandra Bullock and Jesse James
Jesse, you would’ve been dead last for cheating on your wife with 29387239487 women and then talking about her to the media, but Sandra is just so damn classy that she saves you from that. But just barely.
12. Russell Brand and Katy Perry
Russell, if you want to get yourself off the bottom of this list, you have to stop complaining about your sex life with Katy to the press. So non-classy. Oh and also get a time machine so you can go back and NOT BREAK UP WITH HER VIA TEXT MESSAGE THIS TIME. Just an idea.
