After destroying my faith in humanity/anonymous-internet-videos this week by revealing that he was behind the twerking-girl-on-fire video, Jimmy Kimmel managed to completely redeem himself with his latest edition of Lie Witness News. It features everything I hate: fashion, fashion week and fashionistas — and everything I love: pranks, watermelon humor and pointing out how ridiculous people are at fashion week.
Because ladies, the people who attend these shows are ridiculous. If you’re ever in New York during fashion week, take a hot sec to walk by Lincoln Center and check out people who think they’re much more important during this week than you are during any other week of the year. And it will only take a hot sec because these people are on the go. Also on the Gogurt. Eating solids at fashion week is a huge no-no. As is smiling and acknowledging that the whole thing’s a little bit silly.
So with all that in mind, let’s talk about this video. Remember the time Jimmy sent his crew to Coachella and tricked wannabe-Urban-Outfitters-models into saying that they liked made-up bands? Yes? Great! Because this prank video operates under the same premise. Except this time around, he sent his crew to Lincoln Center and asked wannabe-Anna-Wintours what they thought about made-up designers. It’s — as the people at Fashion Week would say — fabulous. The video has great silhouettes! Just wonderful!
Oh and do make sure to check out the Willy Loman line after you finish watching this video. It’s a fresh take on a classic look with clean lines and bold color.
