As someone who’s constantly on the hunt for signs that celebrities are just like us, I felt so wonderful today when I saw this photo of Amanda Seyfried picking up her dog’s poop on the sidewalk. You see, I also have a dog. So I therefore also must deal with its poop. I do not like poop. I don’t even like talking about it. I’ve never been one who enjoys scatological humor. I’ll take a heartbreaking 10-hour documentary on the destruction of the rainforest over a well-written shart joke any day of the week.
Nevertheless, I’m forced to deal with poop because my dog chooses not to deal with it. As much as I would like my dog to pick up its own poop, it does not. Because dogs are selfish. More selfish than almost every human being I know — famous or not. With the exception of Miley Cyrus, I can’t imagine any other person pooping on the sidewalk and then waiting for another human to retrieve it with a baggie.
And that’s what’s so great about this photo of Amanda picking up Finn’s poop (and yes I know his name is Finn because I’m a super stalker) . Even celebrities are below dogs. In the grand hierarchy of life it goes: God – Yeezus – Dogs – Celbripeople. No matter how much money you make or how many IMDB credits you have to your name, you will still have to bend down sometimes and pick up your dog’s poop. And I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel really good about myself.
