People love celebrities for a ton of reasons, but one of the biggies is that they dress so freaking well. Like, so well, that when you don’t know what to wear when you’re heading back to school, you can just look to them for fashion inspiration. Kind of like an older sibling who you don’t actually know and are not technically related to. Same thing though, right?
This fall, which is just around the time when people are buying insane amounts of clothing, there are lots of fashion trends going down in Hollywoodtown. Here are 8 of the most awesome ones that are still totally wearable by real, non-celebrity humans.
1. Something Blue

You know that scene in The Devil Wears Prada when Miranda Priestly is lecturing Andy Sachs about the huge impact that cerulean had on the fashion industry that one time? Well, that’s basically this fall except this time around, you can get do any shade of blue. Get crazy.
2. Something With A Hat
It isn’t like hat-wearing hasn’t always been a thing; it’s just that it’s especially a thing this season. This is great news because this trend is basically an excuse to not try that hard to do your hair because you can just put on a hat (any kind!) This is my kind of fashion.
 3. Something Punk-y

The 2013 MET Gala (for which my invitation got lost in the mail) was punk-themed and it hasn’t ended there. This fall, you can shake up an everyday look by adding edgier elements, like the lovely Demi Lovato has done, above.
4. Something Vintage
It seems like this fall will see lots of people hopping onto the vintage-inspired clothing train, which is probably conducted by none other than Taylor “I Knit Doilies” Swift. I personally love it and I’m really close to 100% sure that Taylor’s kitten Meredith does too.
5. Something Military-Inspired

Just in time for trench coat season is the military trend and you have total permission to combine the two, if you so please. Or, you can go for a more understated military look, like Emily Osment. Her look says “I’m cool and fashionable but not actually enlisted in my nation’s armed forces,” which, I think, is just the right balance.
 6. Something Peplum
I have such a burning love for peplum tops and dresses and would wear them every day if I owned enough (I don’t). But, since they’re sticking around a little bit longer, I just might stock up!
7. Something Emerald

This hue was seen all over runways at New York Fashion Week and it’s so gorgeous that I can totally see why. Just look at how Amy Poehler absolutely glows in her emerald gown. We should all glow like Amy.
8. Something Slouchy
Specifically speaking, slouchy pants, like the ones that Scarlett Johansson is wearing. I, for one, will take total advantage of this trend because wearing slouchy pants are like wearing sweatpants, minus the judgmental looks. So, probably the closest thing to heaven that we’ve got right now.
