This New Girl Season 3 Promo Promises Shenanigans Aplenty In Mexico

New Girl season 3 promo

Is everybody ready for the fall TV season? Personally, I’m feeling a mixture of excitement and terror, because I could barely keep up with the summer shows I committed to. How am I going to watch all my returning shows plus all the new series that are premiering? It’s a hard knock life, my friends. One of the returning shows I’ll be watching is New Girl. It premieres for season 3 on FOX September 17, and a couple of new promo videos have surfaced online promising plenty of shenanigans, as per usual. The difference is that this time they’re happening south of the border.

You might remember the end of last season when (after that pointless Taylor Swift cameo) Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) decided to drive off together after Cece’s (Hannah Simone) wedding fiasco. The fiasco that involved a badger. Remember the badger? Yeah. According to this promo, they end up in Mexico, and Nick gets into some trouble with the law. Jess rushes home for help, and it looks like Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) end up across the border as well, hopefully to put these lovebirds in check.

As far as Schmidt’s storyline goes, it looks like he’s pulling a bit of a Seth Cohen and confessing his devotion to both Cece and Elizabeth, a conflict that was left up in the air at the end of last season. That’s about a thousand dollars for the douche jar, I’d say. Oh, and what’s up with Winston? The trailer doesn’t tell us much, since he’s unfortunately always the odd man out on this show, but he does get tased at one point. So there’s that.

I’m personally excited about this season because it promises the triumphant return of Damon Wayans, Jr. as Coach. He had to leave the show after the pilot to star on Happy Endings, but now that it’s been so cruelly canceled, I’m glad to see him back.

Also check out this dual promo with The Mindy Project and its big James Franco cameo. Checking another project off on his bucket list, I see.
