My god, you guys, this year’s MTV Video Music Awards were just the gift that keeps on giving, am I right? I don’t know if the other celebrities are all hiding under rocks or basking in the sun on their private islands, but it’s been wall-to-wall VMA news ever since the awards show aired on Sunday night. (I never thought I’d say this, but Miley Cyrus really did me a solid. Ugh. Gross.)
And today’s news is no different. While on the red carpet before the awards, Naya Rivera, who plays Santana on Glee revealed a little more information about Demi Lovato‘s rumored guest-starring gig on the show’s upcoming fifth season, saying:
“She’s playing my love interest so I’m very, very excited about that. We get to sing a song together…I’m excited to work with her. We’re bringing her to the dark side.”
I’m assuming that the ‘dark side’ in question here is LESBIANISM, because Demi has been pretty open in her own life about the fact that she’s kind of been to the dark side and back again in many ways, so it seems unlikely that she’d delve back into stuff like that on the show.
Plus, the producers still haven’t revealed how they’ll be integrating Finn Hudson’s absence, except for suggesting that it will address addiction, a fitting and respectful choice since Cory Monteith died of a mixed toxicity of alcohol and heroine in July. The show’s creator Ryan Murphy has said that while the character will die, the circumstances of his death will not directly mirror Cory’s. They don’t want to reveal ahead of time exactly what happens, but they promise it will be respectful to Cory.
And plus plus, Demi’s deal to appear on the show hasn’t even been finalized, yet. So I guess I should probably stop counting all these eggs before they’re hatched and putting them in the same basket. My bad.
