Robert Pattinson Wants To Know What You Twilight Fans Possibly Do All Day

Robert Pattinson attending the Golden Globes January 2013Hey Twi-hards, get in here! You guys are gonna love this! Your old friend Robert Pattinson from the Twilight movies — you know, he played the sparkly vampire one! — wants to know how you guys spend your time! How flattering!

Oh no…wait. I might have misinterpreted this. I was just reading an interview that R-Pattz gave recently, and in it he says he wonders what Twilight fans do all day. The only thing is, I think he means it less in a ‘hey, what did you get up to today?’ way and more of a ‘HOW DO YOU ACCOUNT FOR YOUR TIME, YOU SILLY TWIT’ way. Do you know what I mean? Speaking to Germany’s Interview magazine, Rob had this to say about the franchise’s fan base:

“The real odd thing about this Twilight target group is that they aren’t really teenagers. Most of them are older. Twilight has its own parallel world, its own fan culture that has been forming on the net since day one. And in an intense way that has never existed before. Sometimes I ask myself what these masses of people do the whole day. They sit in front of their computers and comment on anything having even remotely to do with Twilight.”

I know, guys. I know. I should never have called you all in here like that. It was very rash of me. I just had no idea that Robert was gonna be so scornful of all of you. That must be so embarrassing for you, I can’t imagine. Oh, did I not mention? I’m not a Twilight fan either. But at least I know what Twi-hards are up to all day! They’re commenting on posts like this one, yelling at us when we make fun of Kristen Stewart for being an odd duck, and trying to force Robsten back into existence through sheer force of will. It’s a tough life, but somebody’s gotta do it!

Keep on fighting the good fight, guys. Even if Robert Pattinson and Stephenie Meyer both agree the franchise sucks and wish you’d give it a rest sometimes. Or all the time.

I think the twi-hards can be creepy as hell, but he sounds like a major d-bag. I remember reading an interview where he started mocking the hell out of the series…yes, it’s crap but it’s crap that made him rich for life. Basically, it’s starting to seem like he has a history of doing this. Katherine Heigl did this, and she was crucified. Rob Pattinson is white and has a dick, so it’s attaboy and isn’t he charming.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

I’m biased because I don’t like Twilight myself, so it’s exciting for me to find out that its stars don’t either. Although you’re correct, it’s ungrateful for him to be talking that way about the franchise that made him a star.

Especially since all his post-Twilight movies have bombed.

He’s a smart guy so WTF does he pick some shitty directors. Cronenberg has been good, but NOT with Cosmopolis. I hope his new stuff is better. He has the uncanny ability to make you feel his discomfort with the way he is being directed. He radiates anxiety and I squirm in my seat and not from – ahum – well you know the kind of squirming the fangirls comment abut ALL THE FUCKING TIME!

I was amused by his disdain for Twilight for a long time, but this makes me really uncomfortable. I mean, Twilight isn’t at all unique with respect to, err, INTENSE fans (ever seen videos of old Michael Jackson concerts, with fans FAINTING?). There’s no reason to be so nasty about the people who made you rich, when their only crime is enthusiasm over really bad books and movies. What do they do all day? The same thing gamers and comic book fans and book nerds do all day…shit they enjoy when they have some downtime.

And Meyer has some fucking nerve. That woman wrote really bad Book of Mormon fanfic–which is itself fanfic of Christianity (making 50 Shades of Grey fanfic of fanfic of fanfic of the sequel of Judaism)–she does not get criticize anyone’s taste in anything.

        Hahahaha, word.
        All excellent points.

I feel that’s its kind of rude that he’s dissing the franchise. I mean, wasn’t he a star in it?

      • Alexis Rhiannon

Definitely rude, but I guess you could make the point that he held off for a while after it ended? I don’t know quite how I feel about it.

He’s actually pretty nice to his fans – fans that meet him say he’s really nice, signs autographs, takes pictures, etc.

think you totally misunderstood to what he said. He doesn’t hate all Twilight fans. He’s referring to the small subgroup of super obsessed fanatics who DO sit on their computers all day, stalking his friends, posting comments,

these interviews have been translated twice. He gave them in English, they get translated to German or whatever, and then back again to English by a third party. There’s a lot that can get lost in the translation.

Rob has millions of fans, but these fans are bonafide fans, not the haters, etc. I am a fan and love his movies. I think he will be one of Hollywoods leading actors during his career. I think the fans that are so crazy are the ones that hate Rob because he left Kristen, or happy Rob left her, I forget what some of those crazy fans are called. I am happy that I am a normal fan.
