After the most ridiculous 19-hour feud ever, Katie Couric has offered an apology of sorts to Kim Kardashian and assured us all that she meant no ill-will. In case you blinked and missed it, Katie Couric recently told a reporter that she doesn’t “understand why the Kardashians are so famous” (a question that is always in the back of my mind as well, if you must know). Well Kim Kardashian did not appreciate this little tidbit, so upon hearing it she responded (at the urging of Kris Jenner and her much-more-outspoken-than-she-is sisters I can only assume) by calling out Katie Couric via Instagram for being a “fake media friend” because Couric sent her a Barney’s onesie when North West was born.
Yes, yes, it’s all very Gone With The Wind-type drama. And I don’t know about you, but it definitely reinforces the gratuity I feel to the universe for instilling such menial life troubles upon me when there are real people out there dealing with real issues, like Kim Kardashian and Katie Couric. No wonder Kim hasn’t felt welcomed enough to emerge from her mother’s house in two months.
Lo and behold, Katie Couric’s perky little nose caught a whiff of the hostility vibes from Casa de Kardashian (Bruce lives there, but come on- he doesn’t count) and issued the following statement to clear the air (and our hearts/minds/souls):
“I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family,” she said. “I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”
Whew. I feel better, don’t you? Probably because the planets have aligned once more. I’m just guessing.
