In a story I feel surprisingly invested in, Scott Disick was proven to be Mason Disick’s biological father in DNA test results released by Kourtney Kardashian yesterday. This is all the result of male model Michael Girgenti’s claims that he is Mason’s biological father, having allegedly slept with Kourtney nine months before she gave birth. He requested paternity tests from a judge and was seeking joint custody. We found ourselves unexpectedly on Scott Disick’s side in all this, because not only is it Scott who has raised Mason over the years, but this model’s claims seemed too opportunistic to be real. Kourtney Kardashian released a statement to E! News about the issue.
“After three-and-a-half years of rumors and lies being spread by an individual I met briefly at a photo shoot, I am setting the record straight that Scott is Mason’s father. While it saddens me to have to address these ridiculous lies—especially when the truth was never in doubt—this story must be put to rest.”
I breathed a sigh of relief upon reading this news. Then I quickly sucked that sigh of relief back into my body when I saw the latest report from TMZ explaining that Michael Girgenti still insists he’s Mason’s father and believes the DNA test, which was conducted by an independent lab, could have been forged. He’s not putting away his lawsuit, and he’s still insisting on a court-monitored DNA test.
Even though the Kardashians are notorious for playing games and faking out the public (ahem, North West, ahem), I’m still siding with Kourtney and Scott in this situation. This guy still seems way too suspicious, and I think he’s looking for his five minutes of fame and of course as much money as he can milk from this situation. I’m also sad that Mason has to be dragged into this drama. He was already born into such a high-profile, scandal-ridden family. It’s terrible that he’s caught in the middle of a real-life Maury episode. I never thought I’d say it, but I’m Team Kardashian.
