Remember that time that rich-person Zach Braff asked you to help him make the movie Wish I Was Here by giving him money on Kickstarter. And you said, “why of course famous actor who makes more every time a Scrubs rerun airs on TV than I will make in a year, I will surely like to help you reach your dreams!” And then you gave him money in exchange for him helping you to propose to your girlfriend. Did I lose you? Figures. Because unless you’re Matt Hulbert, odds are very high that you didn’t give Zach Braff money to make Wish You Were Here in exchange for help proposing to your girlfriend. On theYoutube video page, Matt writes:
I wanted to think of a really cool way to propose to my girlfriend, Janice, and this song and video is what I came up with. I wanted to show her that not only do I love her but that she’s loved by all our friends and family too. This was particularly important as she hasn’t been able to see much of her family for 7 years since she moved to the UK and she misses them lots.
I managed to get Zach involved through Kickstarter when pledging an amount for his new film “Wish I Was Here”. The team were SO kind and SO amazing they got his part of the video to me super early as they really liked the idea. Like me, Janice is a huge fans of “Scrubs” so I knew it would blow her away.
As much as I am anti-celebrity-kickstarters, I’m very pro-love. Yeah I said it. I like love. I’ve even said it once aloud. To a block of cheese that I found in the back of my fridge. “I love you sharp cheddar,” I crooned to it as I bit off a hunk and promised myself that next weekend I would stop drunkenly eating at 3 A.M. If you’re also pro-love, then I promise you that you’ll really enjoy watching this video. It’s 99% cute and 1% getting-a-tad-corny. So think of it as the skim milk of online proposal videos. It’s good for you, without being too heavy.
Oh, but before you click play, I do have to warn you that you might feel some wet stuff dripping out of your eye holes by the end of it. Therefore, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to have some tissues nearby.
