Um, The Hunger Games Instagram just released the weirdest poster for Catching Fire just now. It’s an illustration of Katniss Everdeen standing on the edge of a cliff with her bow-and-arrow with the quote, “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.” I know that it’s a line from the book. And by know, I mean I’m guessing because I read the book a long time ago and I refuse to Google something before publishing it on the Internet. I prefer to have a commenter gently correct me instead.
And on the note of not reading the book in like, um, forever, please tell me if I’m forgetting about the part where Katniss goes on a solo hike? What is this cliff she’s climbing? Why does she look like an 1800s frontier woman dressed her for this hike? Does she really think that a revolution is a good time to go on some kind of trip to find herself? This isn’t a coming-of-age Judy Blume story Katniss, it’s a war trilogy. Get your head in the game please and join us as we try to take down the capitol via clever subterfuge and secret districts.
I knowww, I knowww, it’s intense up in the Quarter Quell. But if you need a vacation just look at Finnick Odair for a few minutes. That’s more than enough of a treat when everything’s falling apart around you. Also take a moment and write a letter home to Gale. Word on the street is that he’s going through some rough times. Get this, his GF in District 12 cut all her hair off and released a twerking video that premiered on Panem’s most popular network. That’s a true story. If you don’t remember it, turns out that you need to go back and reread the book.
So guys, what do ya’ll think of this poster? Am I alone here on a cliff? Or do you agree that it’s not the best Catching Fire promo thingy we’ve seen so far?
