The Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal Vines are without a doubt the best thing you’ll waste your time watching today. They’re also the best thing to ever happen to the Internet. As in the Internet owes creator Ryan McHenry a big thank you for giving them the extra oomph they so desperately needed on a slow week. They’re silly, they’re nonsensical and they’re addicting to look at. Ryan McHenry (who is now #2 on my list of Internet Strangers I Wouldn’t Mind Procreating With list), came up with the idea to create these ah-mazing vines while eating cereal and watching Ryan Gosling’s rom-com Drive. I never saw it, but from what I hear it might as well have been called The Notebook: Part Deux.

While some people may tell you that the Internet’s an amazing resource to learn and gather new information that was once inaccessible to most people, I’ll tell you that the internet’s incredible because it allows this kind of ingenuity to not only survive but to thrive. Think about what would’ve happened if our parents had this idea back in the ’70s? Nothing would’ve happened. It would’ve just been an idea. Then they would’ve gone back to rollerblading under disco balls with John Travolta– or whatever it is that they did in the ’70s. But now, thanks to the Internet we can bring this kind of magic to life. Sure it’s no acceptance letter to Hogwarts, but it’s close as we’re going to get to something that special.

Just watch him refuse cereal and tell me you’re not entranced and obsessed and filled with an uncontrollable desire to make him eat the goddamn cereal.
