Remember Venn diagrams, guys? Those circle things that overlapped in order to create a wonderful new combo-category of goodness? Well that’s what’s happening in my brain right now as I’m reading that Rebel Wilson is in talks to appear in Mockingjay, the third and final movie in the Hunger Games franchise. I love love LOVE the Rebel circle, because I was obsessed with her in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids, but the Hunger Games circle is a guilty pleasure of mine, too. Especially now that it’s been so attractively and talented…ly filled out with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. I can’t tell which of the two circles I like more, but the fact that they’re overlapping in the same sentence makes me think of a delicious pot of fondue — the more cheeses the merrier. That’s one of my rules always in life anyway.
Rebel is apparently in talks to star as ‘one of the people in the capitol’, which came out in a BuzzFeed interview when she was asked if she was a fan of the books or the movie and she said:
“Um, seriously, I have had a meeting about being in The Hunger Games. Yes. There aren’t a lot of roles open, because they’ve all already been cast, but that would be awesome. I’d love to be in The Hunger Games.”
She’s obviously talking about Mockingjay, because Catching Fire is already filming — and not that far away! — but um, YEAH. I would love that too. Please be in this movie! And even if it doesn’t work out for you to be in the series, my brain now won’t stop obsessing over the idea of a parody movie where Rebel stars as Katniss Everdeen and the rest of the cast is exactly the same. Why is that so hilarious and wonderful? LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN.
