Gwyneth Paltrow hasn’t really done herself any image favors lately, what with admitting that she’s a notorious child-starver, writing one of the most off-the-wall cookbooks of all time, and being as un-relatable as possible to lowly regular folk through her GOOP newsletter. But for whatever reason, she decided to open up to the Daily Mail about a traumatic event in her life during the last few years:
“My children ask me to have a baby all the time. And you never know, I could squeeze one more in. I am missing my third. I’m thinking about it. But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here or should we go back and try again?’”
While she doesn’t give an exact time line, she does reference that the onset of her weirdo diet plan was a couple of years ago after an “unhealthy” time in her life. I’m not claiming to know if these two things are related, but I can say that I am willing to cut Gwyneth a little slack in the self-awareness and emotional health department. No one should ever have to experience something that traumatic, and I can only imagine how it must have changed her and her outlook on life.
That being said, she goes right back to the GOOPy Gwyneth we all know and love by referencing her BFF Beyonce and Blue Ivy to the Daily Mail:
Ms. Paltrow also confesses that she feels ‘very broody’ whenever she sees friend Beyonce Knowles with her one-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
I’m guessing that feeling “very broody” in fake-British means something along the lines of “yearning for a child” does in real-English, but Gwyneth can’t possibly speak like an American to the Daily Mail, so… yeah. I figured out the context clues.
She also talked about what a great father her husband, Coldplay’s Chris Martin is, and that “no matter what happens in our marriage, I absolutely chose the best father.” Let the divorce speculation officially begin!
