Blogging isn’t always a job that always requires runway hair all the time, since I spend most of my time in front of a computer, rather than on a runway. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want hair that makes me look like I’ve stepped straight out of a style slideshow! I just don’t have unlimited coin and time to spend on styling and products. Just because I’m a starving writer, doesn’t I can’t be a fashion powerhouse with rich person hair!
This is why we’re obsessed with the TRESemmé Style Setters Series, which makes us realize that we really don’t need 4 hours and an unlimited cosmetic budget to look like a million bucks. In this episode, hostess Shenae Grimes takes us backstage for an exclusive look at hair stylist Jeanie Syfu’s prep for Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2013 NY fashion week presentation. Minkoff’s collection this season was inspired by Neil Armstrong’s moon landing. It features celestial prints, space-suit reminiscent shoulders, and a lunar color palette, taking space to the streets for an inventive everyday look. To complement the everyday Nasa look, Jeanie Syfu goes for an ultra-straight, middle-parted hairstyle with sheen. Syfu breaks her process down step by step, in language that the less beauty-literate of us can understand. And rather than something crazy conceptual and not suitable for everyday life, the style she coaches us on is sleek, sexy, and classic—perfect for work or play! Check out the video, here:
