You know all those Lifetime movies of the week with such ridiculously farfetched titles that you swear some prankster is making them up just to fuck with you? Ellen DeGeneres does, and thinks they are funny, so yesterday she incorporated them into a little game of “real Lifetime movie title or fake Lifetime movie title?” which she played with actor Cameron Mathison, who has actually been in Lifetime movies.
As it turns out, just because the comely soap actor appeared in The Wife He Met Online doesn’t necessarily mean he understands the full depths of Lifetime’s insanity. Among the names the incorrectly categorized were An Amish Murder, Restless Virgins, My Stepson My Lover, Baby Monitor: Sound Of Fear and To Be Fat Like Me. He thought they were fake, but they’re all real! Real, real, real. What is it about Lifetime movies that you don’t understand, Cameron Mathison?
Of course, this game was a little bit unfair, because the twist that quickly grew apparent to everyone but him was that all of the titles were real Lifetime movie titles. But how was he supposed to know that? The moral of the story? Ellen is sneaky, and nothing is actually too ridiculous to be a Lifetime Movie Of The Week (TM).
