Aubrey Plaza Lets Kathy Griffin Pierce Her Ears Parent-Trap-Style In Front Of A Live Audience

Let me guess. You came to Crushable to find a video that will haunt your dreams. I’m right aren’t I? Well you’re in luck because the Are You Afraid of the Dark wannabes over at Huffington Post have a delightful clip from Kathy Griffin’s talk show Kathy of Kathy herself piercing Aubrey Plaza’s ears. I wish I didn’t watch it. But if you wish you did, you click here to see it. I’m not putting it on this site because I have standards. (And most importantly I can’t find an embeddable version, but also standards.)

But because I’m a fountain of generosity (or jennirosity if we want to speak in ’90s AIM screenname language), I’ll give you the play-by-play of how it went down.

First Aubrey Plaza was all like “Kathy, do you know your mom?” And Kathy was all like, “Yeah, but I don’t know my Dad.” And Aubrey was like “I know my dad, but I never knew my mom…look Kathy, even thought we look nothing alike, do you think it’s possible that we’re sisters.” And Kathy was all like, “Aubrey, we’re not sisters, we’re twins.” Then Kathy, a woman’s who probably never given the Piercing Pagoda in the mall more than a passing glance, took out an ear piercing gun and shot a earring right through Aubrey’s ear.

Just kidding. That’s not at all what happened. It’s more along the lines of Aubrey Plaza telling Kathy that she wanted to fulfill her lifelong dream of getting her ears pierced in front of a live audience. And Kathy being the only person insane enough to do it. At first Aubrey screamed because owwww. But then she went back to her hilarious deadpan self because she’s kinda the best.

And then Kathy sent her to the professional back stage to make sure that she didn’t accidentally pierce her brain or something. All in all, a touching day on TV for people who are into pain and gain and stuff.
