Sad news, Little Pawn Stars. (That’s what I call Lady Gaga‘s fans instead of ‘Little Monsters’, which I’m assuming she has trademarked. I don’t wanna get sued, ya’ll.) Well anyway, Mama Pawn Star has just had to cancel her Born This Way Ball tour in order to have hip surgery. According to her official fan site:
“Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled.
After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.”
The condition affects the soft tissue that surrounds the head of the femur in the hip joint, damaging the seal that holds the bone in place in the socket. It’s apparently an aggravation of her previous issue, synovitis, an inflammation of the joint, which caused her to postpone concerts in Chicago, Detroit, and Ontario. She had twenty-two stops left on this tour, which was scheduled to end on March 20th, a little over a month from now.
It sounds like it’s extremely treatable and that she should make a complete recovery, but how did this happen? Lady Gaga isn’t some tottering grandma, she’s a twenty six year old lady. She’s supposed to be an untouchable alien! She hatched from a giant egg! I don’t know about you guys, but I worry this might be the end of the reign of Haus of Gaga. It starts with a hip surgery, and then it’s a slippery slope to wearing (grand)mom jeans and bingo night after the early bird special at the diner. What is this cruel cruel world?
Get better soon, Lady Babysounds! (More copyright infringment issues. You understand.)
