If you’re looking for your faith in humanity to be restored, don’t look here! It ‘s being reported that Rihanna and Chris Brown are planning on attending the Grammys together tonight. For as cynical as I am, I don’t know why I didn’t think of this being a possibility sooner. Of course they’re planning on attending together, four years after they both skipped out on the awards because he beat the living daylights out of her.
Because isn’t that what healthy, loving relationships are all about? Forgiving, forgetting, and celebrating your love after one of the most horrifying celebrity displays of abuse since O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown. Fuck the haters! We don’t know anything! We should all just stand back and bask in the glow of Rihanna and Chris Brown’s love.
After the Oprah interview that made me feel a little sorry for her, Rihanna followed it up with an interview with Rolling Stone that absolutely did not:
”I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
Sigh. There goes the loss of faith in humanity you were looking for if you continued to read this post.
Just a few days ago, Rihanna sat behind Brown in court Wednesday while a prosecutor asked a judge to order the singer to restart the community labor that is his punishment for the felony assault conviction. You know, I finally figured out what my own relationship is missing: more joint court dates. Like most healthy relationships have.
Only a few hours left until we find out if they arrive together and if the Tums I plan on overdosing on to prepare for it will actually work.
