Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, SAG Awards 2013, Lena Dunham, 30 Rock

Ohemgee, I’m freaking out right now because I’m so obsessed with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s best friendship that I don’t know what to do with myself. Tina Fey won outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series at tonight’s SAG Awards and looked genuinely shocked when her name got called.

Nevertheless, she’s Tina Fey and she pulled off such an awesome acceptance speech that I really to Freaky Friday with her in real life and get to be her, for at least one day. Preferably a day when she’s getting manis and pedis with Amy Poehler.

Not only did she remind me that 30 Rock is ending this week and not only did she give me the warm and fuzzies when she thanked her husband for scoring the show for free, but she gave her best friend Amy Poehler such an awesome shout out that I want it embroidered on my heart. While I haven’t had the chance to memorize it verbatim yet, the best line was something along the lines of “I share this with my sweet friend Amy Poehler, I’ve known you since you were pregnant with Lena Dunham.”

Three things.

One: hilarious joke. Two: it makes an award show junkie like me feel validated for watching so many award shows. For those of you who don’t spend all your Sundays from January through February live-tweeting award shows, you may have missed Lena’s backhanded compliment for Amy and Tina during the Golden Globes. Well, they got her back during the show and they got her back again tonight. I hope this turns into Hollywood’s most long-running feud. Three: I want to be in on their friendship so badly.

Also I hope TV executives finally see the potential for an Amy Poehler and Tina Fey talk show. I can’t think of two people I’d rather watch more.

Thanks GOD. Half the female population has to stay SILENT about Lena Dunham or else we seem jealous or anti-feminist. I think this is totally good natured of Tina Fey and a nice way of saying “um, yeah, stop acting like you came first honey. MANY women are this talented.”

  Actually it came about because Lena Dunham said “I’ve been watching Amy and Tina since Middle School, they’re my idols” at the Golden Globes. So they’re playing the age card, subtly.
