Last time we left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville had just gracefully and grandfully shown the whole country just how wonderful she was. She buried the hatchet with the mistress of her ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, and is turning over a new leaf, which Lisa Vanderpump could not be happier about. (I am obsessed with their friendship.) This week, Brandi is in a whole new mess of trouble when the ghosts of Adrienne Maloof and Paul Nassif come back to haunt her, but we’ll get to that.
In other news, Kyle Richards and Kim Richards are having another sibling spat. These two love each other so damn much but never seem to make it to a place of total peace and forgiveness. Kyle and Kim have had such a tumultuous relationship (as we’ve seen for over two years), and this tension just continues to grow. Now that Kim has become sober, she feels like Kyle has changed as a person. She is hurt and upset about things from the past (The whole “you stole my god damn house!” incident in particular). Her life coach, a pretty smart dude, tells her that the reason she feels that way is because she’s not drunk. She seems Kyle with clear eyes (full hearts, can’t lose!). Is this true? Did Kim have the beer goggles on when it came to her sister? Speaking from someone who has had their ups and downs with their sister, it’s a complicated relationship. You share an insanely close bond, but also hate as much as you love. It’s rough and tough and draining. Truthfully, I feel bad for them.
Kyle Richards is throwing a Moroccan themed dinner with some woman I’ve never heard of/do not care about/I can smell her desperation to be a housewife from here. Brandi is the first to show up to the party with the news that she had to get a lawyer because Adrienne and Paul are threatening to sue her if she doesn’t agree to sign something saying that she won’t talk about them anymore. So like a gag order? Is that was the Maloofs are trying to do? What is this? It’s a reality TV show! How much do you think the Maloofs paid Bravo to block out the alleged “secret” that Brandi spilled about Adrienne? Which we later learned was that she used a surrogate (allegedly). Adrienne needs to calm down. You’re not intimidating anyone (especially hardass Brandi) with your money and your power. Go away. Maybe I just love Brandi too much and think she can do no wrong, but why is this such a big deal? If it’s not true, just say it’s not true and move on. Live in your truth, Adrienne.
So back to the Kyle/Kim drama. The two sit down before dinner to have a talk about their relationship and where they stand. Kim apologizes to Kyle for all the hurt she may have caused her and her family due to Kim’s drinking problems. (Cue Bravo black and white flashbacks of all the shitty things Kim has done over the show’s entirety). Kyle is grateful, but still skeptical, claiming that Kim’s apology doesn’t mean much if she doesn’t stay sober. The two get teary-eyed and sentimental while a party ensues around them (Also cue Taylor Armstrong getting hammered.) and try to find common ground.
Oh and speaking of Taylor Armstrong–homegirl needs to get a grip. She is all the kind of a hot mess. I cannot fathom how hard it must be to lose your spouse, but let’s not talk about how insane he was at a nice dinner party. Kids, this is what alcohol does. It makes everyone go bonkers and get confrontational beyond reason. Can there ever be a nice dinner in Beverly Hills? All of a sudden, it’s just a huge shit storm. Everyone is yelling at everyone! Maurcio Umansky and Ken Vanderpump are even bickering! Brandi and Maurcio continually go at it (and then Kim even attacks Brandi!) until this AMAZING MOMENT when Taylor grabs Camille Grammar’s hand (How does it feel to touch royalty, Taylor?) and Brandi’s hand and the three blondes (who literally look exactly the same) stand up to the married women! Single ladies! All the single ladies! It was such a real moment for Taylor, but such a hilarious moment for me. Thank you, Beverly Hills. It’s been real.
