Right, But Why Is It Weird That Miranda Lambert Hates Chris Brown Still?

2012 American Country Awards at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino- ArrivalsMiranda Lambert is steadily becoming more and more of a hero in my eyes for doggedly reminding the world that Chris Brown is a fucking criminal. He attempted to murder then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 (yeah no, that’s not an exaggeration, that’s what he told her he was trying to do while he slowly choked off her air after viciously beating her), and yet we’re still comfortable praising his performances and giving him awards at the Grammys? This guy should be in jail.

And Miranda happens to agree with me, but she seems to be the only celebrity. When Chris won two Grammys at the 2012 awards, she took to Twitter to say, “I don’t get it. He beat on a girl.” Even after she took heat for her comments, she didn’t back down, carrying a sign at one of her concerts reading, “Take notes Chris Brown”, telling her audience:

“Get a good picture now, put it on Twitter. I’ve been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately…but see, I just have to speak my mind because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never OK. So that’s why my daddy taught me early on in life how to use a shotgun.”

She then went on to play her song Gunpowder And Lead, about a woman preparing to kill her abusive ex-husband once he gets out of jail. And now, a year later, Miranda still hasn’t softened her stance, and we love her for it. She is this month’s cover girl for Redbook, and she tells them:

“He beat a girl…not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. I didn’t feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think.I wanted everyone to know that I don’t agree with the message it’s sending to young women. It’s not okay. At all,” she firmly stated. “To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don’t think it’s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day I die.”

Thank god for you, Miranda Lambert…how are you the only celebrity who’s still pushing this message? But did you guys know that I also hate Chris Brown? Have I been adequately clear on that topic? Okay, I’ll assume you said no, and continue pressing this point for the rest of my born life or at least until he’s behind bars. And I encourage you to join me.

Girl is amazing. Why is it that Hollywood forgives and forgets so quickly? He’s SCUM and doesn’t deserve to still be relevant. Girls who defend his actions put women back 50 years.

Miranda rocks. Chris Brown is awful. I just wish this article was better written. The repetitive structure is so bad, did no one bother to proofread? What a shame.

She’s nothing but a Hypocrite. She & her husband particpate in a tribute to glenn campell who beat tanya tucker. But thats okay? Why’s that? Where’s her stand against charlie sheen getting a show & praise? He has a long history of abuse. Sean penn, ozzy osbourne, tommy lee and so on? Either she’s just trying to be relevant outside the country world or she’s a racist.

      • Nancy

Maybe she didn’t know about Glen and Tanya, as it was before she born.

      • jos

It was before i was born too. So, why doesnt she say i celebrated a woman abuser and i didnt know yadda yadda. Why does she keep bringing up chris? I dont agree with what he did but i dont feel like he should be targeted forever. Esp, since people were just celebrating charlie sheen. He’s been abusing women forever.

      • Nancy

Who knows, but there could be any number of reasons besides her being racist. Why don’t you tweet her and see

Charlie Sheen didn’t win a Grammy. And I assume much like Jennifer Aniston is constantly asked about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie that Miranda was asked about the Chris Brown twitter war and answered. That’s the media/journalist’s fault. As consumers we apparently like to consume rehased issues (the aformentioned Jennifer Aniston/Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie triangle).

You racist horrible person. Why are you targeting Chris Brown? Yes He messed up and he was punished by society. We are also supposed to forgive and move on. The victim chose to forgave him, why cant you? If you need to target someone why don’t you target George Bush that sent 15,000 US troops to their death and a further 100,000 Muslims who had nothing to do with 911. George Bush is still celebrated today as well as many more popular awful people who walk around without being punish. Why target Chris Brown? No one has forgotten what he did. After accepting his punishment, tell me why he should not be allowed to carry on with his life and career? I’m not a fan of his music and not a fan of him. In fact I called for him to be jailed and raped in prison after hearing what happened. But its done and dusted, he should be allowed to move on with his life.

      • insanelady

        What was his punishment exactly?

And who the hell celebrates George Bush? I was under the impression that most people were damn glad that he’s gone.

Why I’m answering this stupidity is beyond me… Oh yeah, I’m bored.

When George Bush performs at the Grammys, I promise I will complain about that too.

      • ?

Why do you hate Chris Brown so much?

      • Alexis Rhiannon

Ooh I know the answer! Because he hit a lady in the face!

      • Jen

How is this racist? She mentioned not single word indicating ANYONE’s race. Her point I suspect is CB never even apologized. When questioned about it he threw a chair at a window! That’s not being racist, that’s pointing out terrible personal decisions made by that person. Please tell me you aren’t one of those “Chris Brown can beat on me” girls.

      • Jenni

Thank you for being a rational human being! We rarely get them when we write posts about Chris Brown.

      • OhHeyItsMe

To start with CB did apologize to the victim and he was forgiven which is why they are friends again. Also the situation has absolutely nothing to do with Miranda so to hold a personal grudge and target CB has to do with race. Tell me how much money does she donate to women shelters? How much does does she invest in women shelters? Which charity related to women shelter does she fiercely represent? If you want to stand up for something, do it properly without targeting a specific person who has already been punished for his crime.

      • Logan Dempsey

Abuse victims typically go back to their abusers. How Rihanna treats Brown is frankly irrelevant at the moment. The reason why people can’t seem to let up on Brown is because of the photographic evidence of what he did to Rihanna; has nothing to do with race. And to people who say he’s already been punished, the punishment hardly fits the crime and his fans would see that if they didn’t have their celebrity-blinders on.

If people were showed Charlie Sheen had done, then I guarantee you more people would be against him. However, they only heard what he’d done. Brown is more on the level of Mel Gibson with those nasty recordings.

    • wow

You commenters don’t like Chris Brown but yet you’re on his articles ALL DAY LONG. Get a life.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

Don’t take this the wrong way, but are you talking to yourself?
