After Watching The American Country Awards, I Think I Have A Crush On Kip Moore

Um guys, I think I might be in love with Kip Moore now — and it’s not just because we wore a backward hat in public, on stage, in 2012. He’s like really cute and he’s like the kind of crossover country star that I can see making it big among people who think “Call Me Maybe” is the best song ever written.

As soon as I watched him perform “Beer Money” during the American Country Awards  (not to be confused with last month’s Country Music Awards) tonight I knew I needed to know more. And that’s saying a lot because no other performers made me feel that way.

As someone who’s only recently gotten into country by way of Nashville, I’m not really an expert when it comes to this genre of music. I’m not going to lie to you, a lot of the acts began to blend together pretty early on in the evening. Also I think the woman from Wicked hosted. With a giant wearing a crushed velvet blazer who answered to the name Trace Adkins. I think, I can’t be sure.

Some preliminary stalking/research shows that after four years of hard work, Kip Moore really broke onto the scene this year with his debut album “Up All Night.” Also he has friends who blog about him on the tumblr, “Friends with Kip.” It’s cute. That’s all I have so far, but I already know I’m in love. His name is Kip. How can I not want to marry him?

Fine, you need to know more before making a decision? Here’s his song, “Something ‘Bout A Truck.”

Kip was great last night, or maybe that was Luke Bryan, all of the guys with backwards baseball caps confuse me. Seriously, I also thought that Kip had the best performance of the night, and that is saying something because there were quite a few good ones. I was talking to a coworker at DISH who thought that Lady Antebellum’s Christmas song was the best, and I think that was my second favorite. I nearly missed the show last night because I was out with the girls, but thankfully my DISH Hopper recorded it with PrimeTime Anytime. I love how it records everything during primetime on the four major networks and saves it for a week, so I never miss anything. There may be a ton of these country music award shows, but I don’t mind because we get to see some great performances every time!
