Don’t pretend like you don’t remember Life-Size, the Disney Channel Original Movie about a doll who comes to life, reunites a sad girl with her widow father, and teaches everyone that they too can be a star! Tyra Banks played the “Eve” doll who is clueless about the real world but knows how to wear a skirt suit and a ballgown. And yeah, that’s little Lindsay Lohan as the girl who accidentally conjures Eve; it was her first big movie after The Parent Trap.
Now that I have you already humming the lyrics to “Be A Star,” here’s the great news: They’re making Life-Size 2! And Tyra is starring in it again! Her recent tweets about “Planet of the dolls” must have been some sort of hint, because she tweeted out the announcement earlier this morning:
All we know so far is that Tyra is executive-producing the movie. But of course what we’re really wondering is, who will play the next girl to wish Eve into real life? I’m tempted to suggest one of the current Disney Channel girls. That’s how it’s been in the past, with the network rotating actresses from their TV shows and movies into DCOMs since their faces are already familiar.
But who also seems young enough that she’d go along with the idea of her doll becoming a flesh-and-blood mentor? I think that Bella Thorne (Shake It Up), China Anne McClain (ANT Farm), Laura Marano (Austin & Ally), or Zendaya (Shake It Up) could be good choices. Maybe in that case we’ll get someone who can actually sing “Be A Star.” Oh, wait, I forgot that it’s Tyra who has to carry that tune… and who really can’t, yet that’s part of what’s so endearing about her playing Eve.
So excited for this, you guys:
