By the time you finish reading this sentence, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber will have broken up and gotten spotted together 6 times. That’s just how quickly they can reconcile and unconcile and reconcile again. This weekend they not only got spotted fighting, but they also got spotted accompanying each other to the AMAs after party. What can I say? They’re the kinda couple that gets spotted. And apparently all this spotting gave Selena Gomez strep throat.
Yes, our friends-with-some-benefits over at TMZ report that Selena Gomez went to the emergency room this morning because she fears she may have strep throat. Or something more serious. Or something less serious. Tests won’t be back for a few days and TMZ seems to content to keep it as vague as possible.
Sources close to the singer tell us … Selena has been suffering from a sore throat lately … and this morning she thought she might have strep, so she decided seek immediate medical attention. We’re told Selena had been suffering from symptoms yesterday … and had to end a recording session early due to the pain. Also, Selena’s stepfather has been suffering from bronchitis, and she thinks she may have been exposed to something contagious. But sources tell us … so far, docs don’t believe Selena has strep … though the tests won’t come back for a couple of days.
I know, I know, that makes little to no medical sense. There’s a lot more to this story. Believe you me, I didn’t spend my entire weekend cruising the medical section of Yahoo Answers! to pretend like this little ER anecdote makes complete sense.
There are two possible scenarios here. Scenario one: Selena Gomez felt ill enough to go to the ER because she’s suffering from something resembling strep throat. Or scenario two (AKA Allegation 1): she enjoyed the AMAs after party last night so much that she left feeling “exhausted.” Possibly even “dehydrated.” I hope you read enough celebrity gossip to understand where I’m going with these quotation marks.
I’m not saying she partied, but I’m not saying she didn’t party. I’m just saying that both options are completely realistic options. But because we’re now fans of the up-and-coming star, we’ll err on the side of option one for now. And we’ll prescribe her lots of popsicles and lots of Bravo marathons. They work wonders when you’re sick and don’t want to actually think.
Feel better Selens!
