Break out the shell art and fair trade cacao bars, Portlandia is about to return!
As you may know, the beloved brainchild of Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein is coming back to IFC with a ten-episode-third season this coming winter, and now it has a not-too-far-from-now premiere date of Friday, January 4. Everyone’s favorite David Lynch pal/winemaker Kyle McLachlan will return to play the mayor, and there will be some new guests as well: Chloe Sevigny has signed on to play Fred and Carrie‘s new roommate(!!!), there’s a strong chance Alec Baldwin will be involved in some capacity, and judging from past seasons, there will be plenty more random ’90s celebrities where they came from. (‘Sup, Eddie Vedder?)
There will also be a special episode December 14 called “Winter In Portlandia,” which I can only assume will consist of Peter, Nance, and the rest of the gang sitting around complaining about how cold and rainy it is in their fair city.
Here’s a preview clip from the new season, which chronicles the cognitive dissonance that occurs when you fall in love with someone in your imagination during yoga class, only to find out that person is actually really annoying IRL:
The dream of the ’90s is alive!
