Jennifer Lawrence Has Officially Met Her Match In Maiara Walsh (AKA Kantmiss Evershot)

Jennifer Lawrence Maiara Walsh Katniss Everdeen The Hunger Games parody Kantmiss Evershoot The Starving Games

We knew that the day would eventually come where Jennifer Lawrence would have to do battle with her evil doppelganger. We just didn’t anticipate it happening so soon. I thought we’d get more time with Jen before having to let someone else step into her shoes and do a halfway decent imitation of the Katniss Everdeen character that she blew us away with in The Hunger Games earlier this year.

Don’t worry, Jen isn’t being replaced! More like… replicated. Remember when we told you about the upcoming parody The Starving Games? Well, they’ve found their Katniss, except they’re calling her Kantmiss Evershot. And the lucky lady taking on the mantle is Maiara Walsh—who with her dark hair, blue eyes, and smile certainly resembles Jen!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting begins next week in New Orleans. Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are the guys you can thank for this latest parody, which will skewer not only Suzanne Collins‘ series, but other blockbusters like The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, and Harry Potter. They’re the masterminds behind other parodies like Meet the Spartans and Vampires Suck.

Our Gale has also been cast, with Pretty Little LiarsBrant Daugherty doing his best Liam Hemsworth impression. But no one’s been named for Peeta yet! Speaking of the cast, let’s return to our star. Maiara (whose name is pronounced “MY-Ah-Da”) is best known as the slutty but misunderstood Simone on Switched at Birth, though she’s also popped up in Desperate Housewives, The Vampire Diaries, and Mean Girls 2… which you could kind of argue was a parody.

I don’t know much about her comedic timing, but if Maiara wants to win us over with her performance, she should start researching Jennifer Lawrence GIFs on Tumblr immediately.

NO!!!! Seltzer and Friedberg make horrible movies of crap! Their jokes are tasteless, unfunny, lame, and they don’t actually make fun of the movies they are supposed to be parodying.
Watch Airplane, The Naked Gun and Blazing Saddles to see how a spoof/parody movie should be made.
