Actually, no. Will Arnett totally meant to drop a fun Arrested Development spoiler when he appeared on Conan O’Brien‘s show last night. In fact, it was actually the perfect occasion to do so, because the spoiler included Conan and his co-host Andy Richter. We already know to expect the return of Ann Veal (…her?) and Carl Weathers, plus new co-stars like Isla Fisher and John Slattery in Arrested Development season 4. But it seems with each day we’re getting more intel on the famous faces hanging out with the Bluth family, and Will just couldn’t resist adding two more names to the list.
“I don’t want this to be too much of a spoiler alert,” Will said on the couch, “but let me put it this way: That there are a few people on this stage tonight who are a part of it. And I think we know who we are.”
“A few means more than two,” Andy piped up, and Will teased back, “Yup, and less than four.”
Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter are gonna be on Arrested Development! Hopefully not playing themselves, but as some quirky characters screwing up the Bluths’ lives. And I really hope that they’re on-screen for more than thirty seconds, as was the case with Conan’s How I Met Your Mother cameo last year.
It’s sweet that Will waited until he was on the couch with Conan to break the big news; it was cute to see the three of them giving each other knowing looks before finally admitting that yes, they’ll all be on the series’ Netflix return together. And maybe this was Will’s way of diverting the fans. He opens the interview joking about how everyone from HuffPo to Bruce Springsteen has bugged him about the show’s return: “I was like, ‘Buddy, I don’t know. What can I say, Boss? We’re doing our best.’ …I did not call him ‘The Boss.’”
Arrested Development returns in the spring, and we can’t wait!
