Looks like Taylor Swift left her modesty cloak at home for her interview with The Sun. While promoting her new album “Red” yesterday, she admitted the real reason why she refuses to take her clothes off. Ever. Seriously, Taylor Swift never removes her clothes, like a Titanic passenger attempting to survive the Atlantic she just puts more and more clothes on.
Rumor has it that she’s currently wearing 13 pairs of underpants, 9 pairs of long johns and 3 skorts. But since she refuses to take her clothes off and since I just made that rumor up, we’re unable to confirm it. However we are able to confirm that she’s aware her body’s better than her music.
You have a more classic look than most pop stars. Is that deliberate?
I don’t really take my clothes off because I don’t think I can pull it off. Also, most people are only going to focus on one or two things about you — I want that to be that I write my own songs, not that I have great abs.
At first she’s all like, “who me? Little ole Taylor Swift getting nekkid? Why I wouldn’t even know where to find the zipper on my dress or the latch to my underthings!” Then, in the same breath makes sure that we know that if she did get naked, she would look great. In fact, she’d look so great we wouldn’t be able to focus on the music at all. It’d be all “we’re never ever going to church again because her body’s the only temple I want to worship at now!”
Sure she might be singing this song:
But we’d all only be able to hear this song:
So I suppose it’s in our best interest that we never get exposed to her body. That she continue to dress like Samantha from the American Girl Doll collection and that she continues to ignore opportunities to stand up for women and act like a role model.
When given an opportunity to speak out about the exploitation of female celebrities and double standards and a whole mess of issues that come up when successful women strip down, she sidesteps the issue and talks about her abs.
I’m not asking her to show her maturity by taking off her clothes, I’m simply asking her to use her influence to speak to her legions of young female fans and actually say something that matters.
