Ladies, gird your loins, because little Daniel Radcliffe is on the prowl for a new lady in every city! …At least, that’s the vibe we’re getting from this article that claims that D. Rad “dated and dumped” his Kill Your Darlings co-star Erin Darke.
But wait, what about Rosie Coker? Until recently, Daniel was said to have been dating Rosie, a production assistant for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, but since July he’s been spotted out and about with other mystery women. And now comes the report that he hooked up with Erin and totally led her on. An insider tells Life & Style magazine,
“Erin thought it was a real relationship, going as far as introducing Daniel as her boyfriend. He’s flown her out to London and taken her on dates and spent plenty of time with her in NYC, but Daniel just up and left New York without a second thought. Erin was devastated!”
Is it me, or does this story just ring kind of false? I feel like Dan’s people are trying to build him up as some sort of seductive asshole, when he comes across as a much sweeter guy. It’s like when he starred in Equus and every headline was “Harry Potter Is Naked!” Yes, we all strip down at some point in our lives, so having this child star do so isn’t that radical.
Similarly, I don’t doubt that Dan enjoys the occasional hook-up, but it’s hard to cast him in that “love ‘em and leave ‘em” role. Especially when he’s already revealed himself to be a little more sensitive than other guys his age. This past February, when he was definitely still with Rosie, he told the Daily Mirror that he usually shied away from one-night stands, especially with groupies. “I was always very nervous about the groupie thing. I like to like somebody before I sleep with them,” he confessed. “You know, you’re going to have to talk to them afterwards, even if it is a one-night stand. I have… I mean, that has happened, but generally speaking I’ve known the person. Apart from a few times when I was drinking.”
Speaking of drinking, the kinds of antics we expect from Daniel are situations like the night he partied with an Irish football team at 4 a.m. That was awesome, and he didn’t need a story planted in Life & Style for everyone to adore him.
