Are The Real Housewives Of Miami Catty, Or Is Karent Sierra That Annoying?

The second season of The Real Housewives of Miami is still kind of in its infancy, so I haven’t quite been able to figure out yet how I feel about some of the Housewives. I know I like Ana Quincoces and Marysol Patton and dislike Joanna Krupa and Lisa Hochstein, but the rest of the girls I haven’t gotten the best read on, yet. And the one I want to talk about today is Karent Sierra.

You remember her. She’s the dentist to the stars who’s dating that Mexican soap star, Rodolfo. She’s been gossiped and rumored about by almost every cast member already, but I need more film before I can make an executive decision. She’s so far refused to even consider that Rodolfo might not be entirely faithful to her, and I can’t decide if that’s admirable or naive. On the one hand, good for her for trusting her partner, but on the other, there’s all this talk about Ana having proof on Facebook of his attempts to sleep with her, so maybe it’s worth digging a little deeper. Who knows.

Then there’s also this drama from last night with Adriana De Moura-Sidi, another cast member I can’t quite get my head around yet. Before last night, Adriana has said she’s friends with Karent, and has even stood up for her when the other girls were speculating about her relationship. But that all went out the window during the last episode, when Karent accompanied Adriana to an art event, where they met a famous artist that Adriana was obsessed with. He’s apparently super reclusive, but agreed to take a picture with her so that she could post it on her Twitter to show all her followers. Except that as soon as Adriana was done taking the picture with one of her heroes, Karent wanted to take one too. And not because he was her hero, because he was famous. And then she committed the unpardonable sin of Tweeting it herself, after she’d clearly heard Adriana say she wanted to put it on Twitter. Spawning the extremely necessary phrase, “You don’t beat me to the Tweet.”

See, I don’t know how I feel about this. I know I mostly don’t care, that’s a big part of it. And I know it’s ugly the way Adriana and Lea Black stand around gossiping about their supposed friend, Karent. Sure, what she did was annoying, but she admitted herself that she didn’t mean anything by it, she was just oblivious. And if you really have a problem with it in the moment, then talk to her about it then instead of behind her back later at the next gallery function…which you didn’t invite Karent to. This all just feels like unnecessary drama. There’s no real drama yet because it’s so early in the season, so let’s just gossip about this girl who’s shockingly similar to us, we just don’t like her.

But it’s also possible this girl is just too much to handle, and I’m not aware of it yet because she hasn’t had much camera time. Who can say. All I know is I’m ready for some real relationship drama to crop up, so let’s get Joanna some vodka, and give Ana an unlimited texting plan and an iPhone and go to town.

I’m not a fan of Twitter, and
have no idea what the big deal is about who “tweeted” what, first? This season
is really slow and I doubt it will pick up much speed, unless the story line
between Joanna and Romain evolves. I missed this past episode of the “Real
Housewives of Miami” because of my new work schedule at DISH. I think this group
of women is an improvement over last year, but Lea Black is really boring, and
doesn’t add much to the show. My Hopper recorded this past episode, and since
it looks like this will be a long season I set it to record the rest of the upcoming
    episodes.
