A video taken on the set of Mean Girls has just hit the Internet, and it’s a roller coaster ride of emotions. It makes me happy because it’s awesome, but sad because Lindsay Lohan has fallen so far since then.
In the clip, a hoodie clad Amy Poehler delivers the infamous “Kevin G rap” while Tina Fey and LiLo back her up. Here’s a refresher as to how it looked in the actual movie:
Lindsay is only visible for a few seconds, but she looks more happy and carefree than we’ve seen her look in a long, long time. I mean, when was the last time we even saw her crack a genuine smile? Sometime circa Mean Girls, I reckon. I know it’s hard to believe, but her troubles with drugs, shady dudes, and getting on the wrong side of the law started less than a year after that with her first “exhaustion” related hospitalization.
It’s extra sad because we know she wasn’t lacking for female role models. One would think hanging out with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey would put any talented 17-year-old on the right track. But of course, that’s not how addiction works. It’s sad when it happens to anyone, but it’s especially scary when it happens to someone who seems to have all the tools to live a happy and successful life, because that means there really is no way to predict who will succumb and who won’t.
