For some reason, probably because it’s been two weeks since we last wrote about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, a story came out today about how he’s been writing her love letters in the form of rap lyrics for years now. That’s right, “Perfect Bitch” is not the first song Kanye’s written about Kim! Lucky her.
TMZ spoke to “sources” close to Yeezy, who say that when he collaborated with Keri Hilson on her 2009 song “Knock You Down,” his rap lyrics were all about Kim, even though at the time she was dating Reggie Bush. Assuming this is true, there must have been some sort of reference to a sex tape or Bruce Jenner‘s fake face, right? How else would we know it was for Kim? Well, these are the lyrics in question:
You was always the cheerleader of my dreams
To seem to only date the head of football teams
And I was the class clown that always kept you laughing
We were never meant to be, baby we just happened
…Yeah, these are way too vague for us to believe that they were about Kim, or really any girl. Kanye released his first album The College Dropout in 2004, so why he was singing about star-crossed high school lovers, I have no idea. Honestly, the first woman this brings to mind is Taylor Swift—not because I think he’s singing to her, but rather because he’s kinda channeling her unrequited-love-in-the-cafeteria genre.
Seriously, how does that not sound like “She wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts / She’s cheer captain and I’m on the bleachers”? Next thing we know, Kanye will be playing himself and his vixen-y doppelganger in a music video while he stares longingly at the star quarterback. Judge for yourself:
