As one of the world’s most premiere television hate-watchers, I feel comfortable saying that Gallery Girls could be the most hate-watchable show on television right now. And that says a lot because not only does TLC churn out series after series every single day, but The Secret Life of the American Teenager just keeps getting renewed. Oh and The Bachelor still exists. So yes, calling it the most hate-watchable show’s a bold move. But I stand by it.
Every single girl on the show continues to be ridiculous in their own wonderfully unique way. From Chantal Chadwick declaring herself one of the top five people in her yoga class of six people to Amy Poliakoff drinking too much at public events to Maggie Schaffer awkwardly flirting with her boss Eli Klein, they always remind me to be thankful that money is an issue for me.
Because when money’s not an issue for you and you can spend it however you please, you spend it on eyelash extensions, red lipstick, art galleries, ironic sorority-themed events, a modeling career, gourmet macaroni-and-cheese and a Japanese fashion magazine photographer to follow you around Brooklyn.
And that’s why I absolutely adore this interview that Angela Pham, Amy Poliakoff and Liz Margulies did with the wonderful ladies of Girlhattan. Joanna and Rachel don’t hold back with their questions and even Liz (who frightens me because I believe she could and would kill me) looks a little startled by their line of questioning.
I hope this is the first of many Gallery Girls and Girlhattan collaborations.
P.S – Angela makes it through the whole interview without talking about her pussy. One step forward, Two thats-not-a-shirts back.
