Nearly a year after Carly Rae Jepsen‘s infectious single “Call Me Maybe” was released, it’s time to put an end to all of the copycat videos. They’re just not shocking or funny anymore. Carly herself tried to ride one last wave during the U.S. Open earlier this week, but that video didn’t go viral at all. Luckily for her, however, we’ve come across a video so great that we’re willing to pronounce it the final “Call Me Maybe” video you have to watch.
The Insane Clown Posse has put out their own viral videos in the last few years, including “Miracles” with the now-infamous line “Magnets, how the fuck do they work?” But in their spare time, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope also review mainstream movies and music videos. They pondered Water for Elephants, and now they’ve turned their attention to Carly Rae.
Honestly, I’m surprised no one has asked any of these questions yet! It’s because we’ve been too wrapped up in watching swimmers punch car ceilings in time to the beat, and haven’t applied brainpower to questions like Does the shirtless guy think Carly Rae is underage? or How can I dream about romance covers when I get knocked out? J and Shaggy’s running commentary is great, and I hope stream-of-consciousness; even better, they do an homage to Pop-Up Video by including little tidbits of info to either correct the guys when they mistakenly identify CRJ as Carly Simon or joke about the age of consent in California.
“I wanna say she’s hot, I’d hit it, but I think she’s 16.”
“Except for her tits are, more like…”
“No, that’s not a moonwalk!”
“The band looks like…”
“That Nickelodeon band?”
“The CreditScore.com band!”
“She’s a romance novel now? Is that two chicks? I think it is. Yeah, get in there.”
So many great quotes.
